IN Research Shows that Amount Read Counts, p.60*

Resources:

Nancy McGriff, Library Media Specialist, and Susan Angelos, Title I Reading Teacher, South Central Community Schools in Union Mills, Indiana, developed a Free Voluntary Reading program that allows students the choice of materials to read without outside restrictions. The results of their action research project, "The Research - Free Voluntary Reading, " show that those students who participated performed better on standardized tests than students who did not participate. The column is reprinted with permission from Knowledge Quest, Vol. 31, no. 3, May/June 2002.
